Open the EasyTrails GPS app on your phone. After for the GPS indicators to turn from yellow to green, tap the red dot as shown below to start recording your trail.
When you’re recording, the red dot will become a gray square. At the conclusion of your ride, touch the gray square to stop recording your track.
This will take you to the “Save Track” screen. On the “Save Track” screen you can keep the default trail name (for example, “Track 1”) or you can type in a new trail name and (optional description).
To complete the “Save Track” screen, tap the symbol in the upper right corner as shown below.
Now you’re ready to upload your track to Top Trail Horse. Go to the pull down menu:
Select “Tracks”
Select the track you want to upload.
Tap the 3 dots symbol (indicating pull down menu) in the upper right of the screen.
Scroll down and select “Export to toptrailhorse.com”
First time you export to Top Trail you must enter your Top Trail login credentials (email and password) because the app is logging into your account. They must match up with your Top Trail login credentials or you will get an error message. In future uploads, this information will be stored and you will not need to re-enter unless you change your Top Trail password.
Tap the “Share”symbol!
The steps above will send the track to your Top Trail Horse account.
IMPORTANT final steps:
LOG INTO YOUR TOP TRAIL ACCOUNT (www.toptrailhorse.com) on your phone or computer browser.
Under the “My Top Trail” menu pull down and select “Ride Logs”
Select the ride you just uploaded and designate the equine ridden for this track so that your equine also gets credit for the mileage.

Kris, that means that the email or password or both email & password you have entered in the EasyTrails app does not match (exactly & case sensitive) your Top Trail account email or password or both email & password.

hi troy lynn…doing a trial of top trail…i have been using Gaia gps…is there a way to upload those or do i have to get the easy trails app…i can start using that going forward if needed but would like my other rides loaded
Hi Lisa! You can certainly use Gaia! There’s a cool way you can transfer your Gaia record track to EasyTrails then easily export to Top Trail. I think it’s super cool and am going to start doing it myself. That way I get all the features of Gaia and the ease of export to Top Trail. I’m using the free version of Gaia. EasyTrails is $3.99 iPhone/ $2.99 Android (1X fee).
