This week, in our premiere edition of the Top Trail Horse Member Spotlight, we catch up with the lovely and ultra talented, Troy Lynn Norris!
I wanted to know more about Troy, as well as ALL of our members, so I began this series of interviews, beginning with Troy and the program’s Ambassadors. I sent them each a set of several varying questions. The answers they’ve provided are as inspiring as they are insightful. I hope you enjoy these Member Spotlights each week as much as I’m enjoying writing them.

So, you think you know Troy Lynn?
Well, she founded and created the Top Trail Horse Program; she competes in this program as well a Foxtrotter group; she’s been married since 2010; and, is truly dedicated to Top Trail: the program of her dreams. Let’s see how she answered the questions:
TTH: How long have you been a member of the Top Trail Horse Program?
TLN: Since the beginning of time! No seriously, since 2013.
TTH: How many Equines do you own?
TLN: Five! We have Wish, a 22 year old, half arab mare; Leonardo: a 14 year old Polish Arab; Hytone Tenase; a 7 year old Spotted Saddle Horse; Courage, an 11 year old straight Egyptian Arabian; and, Copper, a 6 year old Arab gelding.

TTH: How many saddles do you own?
TLN: our saddles, two of which are specialized: a Bob Marshall sport saddle, and a BP Saddlery, El Camp Shorty.
TTH: English or Western Pleasure?
TLN: I’d have to say Eclectic if that’s a thing. The horses go primarily in hackamores, looped rein, and trail type saddles. Helmets on the noggin and Ariats on the feet. I like to wear either breeches or jeans made especially for riding and my favorites have a thigh pocket for my phone (GPS).

How many miles on your lifetime mileage?
TLN: 2,350. I want to hit 3000 by the end of the year. ?

I've been riding for over 40 years and have picked up a few tips and tricks over that time. I’m no pro by any means, but I’ve got all sorts of fun facts and information to share. I've been a barrel racer, a hunter/jumper, a dressage student, a race horse exerciser, a stall cleaner, and (my favorite), a good ole trail rider. I'm now writing content on topics related to trail riding, mileage tracking, riders, program sponsors, and the horses we all love so well.
