I turned 70 in August 2023 and don’t plan to slow down quite yet. I love driving my ponies!  Even my retired husband seems to enjoy going along.  He wasn’t interested in doing any riding, but now goes along on most of my drives.

We live near Ovid, Michigan on what use to be a dairy farm, but now is home to my critters which include the three ponies, four dairy goats, two German Shepherds, and three cats.  We plant a vegetable garden every year and do our own hay.

We also have a cabin in the woods up near Clare, Michigan  where we spend time.  We take the ponies up with us so we can drive the trails we cut as well some road driving.  The dairy goats that are in milk go as well if we are staying very long.

At home we are only six miles from Sleepy Hollow State Park where there are about 15 miles of trails available to use year round.  We go there quite often.

I used to do some showing with my daughter and we enjoyed some trail riding as well.  I had always wanted to learn to drive.  The ponies are so much easier to tack up then the bigger horses. Cora and Mike keep me on my toes most of the time, while Clara Bella is my calm and easy going relaxing driver.  I truly enjoy being outside and see the country whether it’s just around the farm or out on a new trail.  It gives me plenty of exercise most every day.

Also, meeting new folks, whether out on a trail or in a parade, there is most always someone who wants to stop and talk or just pet the ponies.  It’s fun to make new friends along the way.
