I rode 7.29 miles on my horse today. Started Easy Trails app at at beginning of ride, but when got back, track had stopped recording at 1.72 miles. I had 7.29 miles recorded on my Garmibn Foretrex 401 wrist gps. How can I upload track from my Garmin watch rather than my easy trails app to get accurate track (7.29 miles versus 1.72)?
Hi Rosemary! I’m sorry to hear about this! Your phone app must have been jostled just enough to mess up the recording. In the future, be sure that the app is running in the background and that your phone screen is disabled during the ride. Also, there might be a setting on your phone (there is on mine) called “Raise to Wake” that you can turn off. I turned mine off (iPhone) and haven’t had this problem in a long long time. It’s under Display & Brightness on your Settings if you have an iPhone.
You can use your Garmin track. What you will need to do is log into Garmin Connect (website) and sync up your watch on that account. Then export the track to your computer hard drive in GPX file format. Then log into Top Trail, and upload the GPX file using the “Add Ride” page under “My Top Trail” menu.
I was no able to down load rides last year and I would like to start this year better. Please instruct on what I need to do.
